An intentional men’s retreat designed to call men into greater communion with their Creator and greater relationship with their community.

October 2-4, 2026

Begins Friday 6PM Ends Sunday Noon

God’s Man: Carrying the Weight exists to build the local body of Christ by training men to understand who they are, understand their God-given purpose, and understand how to transform their homes and communities together. With intentionality, this weekend’s teaching cohort will equip and charge men to return home and build their families in the faith — and to seek out real, lasting opportunities to serve the local Church.

This is the inaugural year of the retreat. Every decision is made with two goals in mind: deliver a spiritually substantive weekend that men will talk about for years, and build a financially sustainable, repeatable model to continue building up men in the faith into the foreseeable future.

Speakers

Dr. Roy Smith

Dr. Roy Smith has founded Pennsylvania Counseling Services, Servant’s Oasis, and LiveUp Studios. Dr. Smith believes that individuals are often capable of far more than they realize. This God-given potential, when nurtured within the context of healthy relationships, fosters a sense of community that everyone needs. Teaching people to strengthen their sense of identity and contribute their unique gifts to the well-being of others has been a long-standing focus of his work. Jordan Ames

.Jordan Ames, a 21 year USMC Special Operations veteran, works with executive church leaders such as pastors, leadership boards, and staff teams, to help them see, set, and seize specific strategic objectives to where God is calling them to lead their congregations and create exponential Kingdom growth. He guides them as they cast vision, build strategy, and implement that strategy to seize their God-size objective. He believes leadership in the Kingdom of God is not about pursuing what is merely achievable through talent, resources, or experience. If a vision can be accomplished without God’s intervention, it is too small. True Kingdom leadership requires stepping into what feels humanly impossible and trusting God to work through surrendered, disciplined leaders to accomplish His purposes.
